You have seen these wooden shapes before, maybe in the diary, but with strange symbols on them. But what does it mean?
Could this be a tangram like the pirate fleet used to use?
If you take a step back or a page, things might become clearer. But these questions don't need answering yet.
Sometimes you just need to piece things together, like a bridge over troubled waters.

Z I T is the word THE, does that mean O = I?

Could the symbol be more than decorative?
In Chinese culture this symbol is also associated with luck.
This colour also symbolises good fortune and is often the colour of the packet containing money on Chinese New Year.

Think about the 7th line in a bit more detail.

Wooden piece
Where have you seen those symbols before?
Could this relate to a prior puzzle?
The wooden piece should confirm some of your prior answers, it has the solutions to multiple old puzzles written on it.
